A collegiate crest treated like a tailored trim detail: navy, cream and soft gold arranged with the restraint of a heritage luggage panel.

Design Story

The composition centers on a cream focal panel framed by faux-stitched borders, with the Blue Devil profile logo set inside a medallion at the visual heart. Above it, a plaque reads DUKE UNIVERSITY in engraved-style serif lettering; below, a ribbon banner carries DUKE BLUE DEVILS. Lower banner plates repeat the typographic rhythm in smaller scale, so the eye reads top to bottom in three clean steps. The palette stays disciplined — deep navy ground, warm ivory relief, thin gold outlines — and the leather-look texture in the artwork gives the flat graphic a quiet, tactile depth without noise.

Use & Experience

On a vertical tumbler silhouette the layout behaves beautifully: the cream panel sits at chest height of the vessel, front-facing and unmissable, while the darker upper and lower zones act as negative space and let the crest breathe. The wraparound navy carries the design cleanly past the handle side, so the piece reads as one continuous object rather than a sticker on a cup. Understated enough for a desk, graphic enough to register across a room.
