A floor piece built like a hand-drawn sea chart. The eye lands centre first, then wanders outward the way a map is meant to be read.

Design Story

The composition is strictly centred: a golden compass rose with N, E, S, W markers, and inside it a straw hat with a red band drawn large enough to act as the medallion. Around it, illustrated vignettes sit in loose symmetry \Uffffffff a caravel under a skull-and-crossbones flag, a wicker picnic basket, a coconut drink, a treasure chest, palms, hibiscus and shells. Lower right, a chibi Robin sits cross-legged on a blue check blanket, calm and smiling. A deep navy border with rope braiding and corner anchor cartouches frames the whole field, and the cream ground keeps the crowded motifs legible.

Room & Styling

On a rug, that structure does real work. The dark border defines the edge from across the room, the central hat holds the focal point when furniture crops the corners, and the small vignettes reward close viewing. Warm cream with navy and gold reads as an interior accent rather than a poster laid flat.
