A circle is a difficult frame to command. This one is owned outright by a single diagonal: the long, luminous curve of a scythe cutting corner to corner across the floor.

Design Story

The composition is built on one dominant sweep. The blade travels the full width of the round field, its polished edge catching cold light against a palette of soot black, bone ivory and molten amber. Above it, a hooded figure leans out of the frame, skull tilted forward, ember eyes burning as the only saturated points in the design. A skeletal hand claws toward the lower right, pulling the eye back into the circle so the motion never leaks off the edge. Behind everything, broken masonry and drifting mist give depth without competing for attention. Dark border, dark ground, high-contrast highlights: the hierarchy reads instantly.

Room & Styling

As a floor piece, the round silhouette suits a centred motif, and this one uses the whole surface rather than floating in the middle. The heavy dark field anchors a room and reads as a deliberate visual footprint from standing height, while the fine texture in the stone and cloth rewards a closer look. Best given clearance on at least two sides so the scythe's diagonal stays uninterrupted.
