A ghost stands still at the threshold, holding a lantern-pumpkin, smiling. Nothing about it is frightening \Uffffffff and that restraint is the whole idea.
Design Story
The composition is a die-cut silhouette rather than a rectangle: the ghost's draped hem becomes the lower contour, scalloped into soft waves that carry the eye left to right. A heavy black outline defines the entire figure, giving a flat cream field enough structure to read clearly from standing height. Inside that field, restraint dominates \Uffffffff a few pale lilac fold lines suggest cloth without shading it, and blush cheeks warm an otherwise neutral surface. Visual weight is deliberately uneven: the orange jack-o'-lantern sits low and right, the darkest accent and the only saturated colour, balanced by a small bat and two amber sparkles on the left. The eyes, tilted and oversized, anchor the upper third and set the tone before anything else registers.
Entryway & Styling
As a doormat, the shaped contour replaces a conventional border, so the motif sits on the paving as a figure rather than a panel. Seen from above at entry distance, the black outline holds the form together while the pale interior keeps the composition open against stone or tile.
